Meet Mr. Larraga
About Me

I was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. I have lived here most of my life and attended elementary, middle school, and high school for the Brownsville Independent School District or BISD.

After graduating from high school, I enrolled at the University of Texas/Texas Southmost College.  At first I was undecided on what to study, but eventually I found myself being attracted to the art and science of teaching.
After several retail jobs, I decided to work as a substitute for the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District (LFCISD).  This has been the most important decision of my life and I am still here!  I began substituting and eventually I became a Para-Professional.
Finally in 2005, I graduated with a degree in teaching with a certification in Early Childhood through Fourth Grade Bilingual Education.  I was fortunate enough to find a job after I graduated and begin working at Olmito Elementary in a Kindergarten.

Currently I work at Rancho Verde Elementary teaching third grade but my para-professional and professional experience include:  third grade, kindergarten, pre-kindergarten, physical education, special education resource, and I spent a month in the multi-handicapped unit.

I have been teaching for eleven years now and I have earned my master's degree in math and science elementary education.  I am an adjunct instructor at the University of Texas at Brownsville and completed my studies in educational leadership certification.
